What is Tang Soo Do?

Tang Soo Do is a traditional Korean martial art focusing on self defence. It’s history dates back many centuries. It is a very varied art, covering kicking, hand techniques, blocks, grappling, locks and pressure points, forms, and weapons techniques.

Tang Soo Do is open to people from all walks of life regardless of age, and ability and gender. It is an excellent form of fitness and also helps build confidence, overall health and provides discipline.

Stanground Tang Soo Do is an amazing club. The instructor is very experienced and professional, very friendly and knowledgeable. It's great for anyone who is interested in Martial Arts whether they are beginner or experienced; this club can offer everyone something. It's a great way to Get fit, learn to defend yourself, teach discipline and much more. I would highly recommend it!

Very welcoming for someone who knows nothing about martial arts I initially joined for fitness but I instantly felt part of the STSD family. The instructor is very welcoming and very good at adapting his teaching technique to different people which is very helpful if you’re an anxious person like myself. If you want to be part of the family have fun and at the same time learn how to defend yourself this is the class for you. This also helped with my social anxiety and made me a more confident person in everyday life.
